Materials:
- 2 different colors of Gimp
Steps:
- Get two colors of gimp lacing from any craft store. You may do this with two strands of the same color, but if you have two different colors, it is easier to keep track of the laces.
- Cut two pieces of gimp from two different colors. Place one on top of the other, making it look like a plus sign. If you cut a long lace, it will be easier, because if you cut it too short, then the bracelet might not be as long as you expected.
- Twist one lace around the other, making two loops over the straight lace.
- Take the other piece and weave it above the first one. Do the same to the other side of the strand.
- Pull the strands to make it tight.
- Repeat the stitch to make additional stitches. Make two loops of one color, straight across the stitch you just made.
- Weave the second color over and under the two loops. Go straight across.
- Weave the other.
- Pull tight. Try to pull each stitch to a consistent tightness so that they will come out even.
- Leave some extra length of about 3 inches at the end.
- Take the string and make a loop around what you want to tie it to.
- Tie a know at the end or melt the end with a match. Add a clip or ring through the first or last stitches. Now you have a gimp key chain.
